The Douglas Cardi is a grandpa-style cardigan complete with stripes, big pockets, and a relaxed fit. Named for my father, who is now fondly known as Grandpa Doug to my kiddos, it reminds me of when I spruced up my school uniform with my own grandpa’s golfing cardigan when I was in middle school. I love to amp up my cozy with this sweater no matter the outfit! This sweater is knit from the bottom up with afterthought pockets and a picked up button band.
The pattern by Andrea Mowry is not included in the kit – you can purchase it on Ravelry or on Andrea’s website.
The kits are made with Cascade 220 Heathers. The yarn is slightly thicker than what Andrea calls for in the pattern but you will have no problem getting the tension.
The bottom colour in the picture is the band colour. Then the colours go B, C, D and E is at the top. This is only a suggestion – you can easily move the colours around.
The measurement is the finished bust measurement.
Recommended ease is positive 16-10”/40.5 -25.5 cm; Andrea (paler cardigan) is wearing Size 2 on a 35”/89 cm bust with 15”/38 cm positive ease. Lynn (brighter cardigan) is wearing Size 3.
